Business Rescue

CPM Services provides professional business rescue, corporate restructuring and turnaround solutions to companies experiencing financial distress. Led by experienced Business Rescue Practitioners Pat Pattinson and Jaco Durandt, CPM combines extensive practical experience with a hands-on approach to assisting distressed businesses through the formal business rescue process, as provided for in Chapter 6 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008.

Our approach focuses on the restructuring and rehabilitation of financially distressed companies, with the primary objective of avoiding liquidation wherever reasonably possible, preserving employment, protecting stakeholder interests and restoring businesses to financial and operational stability.

Through a thorough assessment of each company's circumstances, CPM develops and implements tailored business rescue plans aimed at addressing the underlying causes of financial distress, restructuring financial obligations and maximising recoveries for creditors and other affected parties.

Pat Pattinson, a Senior Business Rescue Practitioner, brings extensive experience to CPM, having been involved in more than 50 substantial business rescue implementations, with a reported success rate exceeding 90% of business rescue plans published. Jaco Durandt, an Experienced Business Rescue Practitioner, contributes five years of practical experience in business rescue and restructuring, with a similarly impressive success rate exceeding 90%.

Together, Pat and Jaco combine their respective experience, expertise and practical knowledge to provide clients with independent, professional and results-driven business rescue services.

At CPM Services, we recognise that every distressed business presents its own challenges and opportunities. Our commitment is therefore not merely to navigate the legal requirements of business rescue, but to achieve practical, sustainable outcomes that preserve value, safeguard businesses and provide the best possible result for all affected stakeholders.

Business Health Check (BHC)

Business Health Check (BHC)

Not sure how your business is really doing? A Business Health Check is a review of your company’s finances and operations. It spots early signs of trouble, shows you the risks and opportunities, and gives you clear next steps. You’ll know where your business stands and what to do about it.

Business Rescue

Business Rescue

Business rescue offers a formal legal route to recovery for companies in financial distress. Under the oversight of a licensed practitioner, your business is protected from creditors while it restructures. During that time, a rescue plan is developed, published and implemented, giving the business a real chance to stabilise, rebuild and keep trading.

Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO)

Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO)

Leading a turnaround takes authority and a clear plan. A CRO takes charge of your company’s operational and financial recovery, ensuring that all stakeholders involved are brought together around a unified recovery plan. They implement immediate changes and operate independently from the current management team.

Exit Strategies

Exit Strategies

Whether you’re ready to step back or need to leave, the right exit takes planning. We develop tailored exit plans for business owners. Our options include a sale, a management buy-out, family succession or liquidation. Every plan takes legal, tax and operational factors into account and aims to get the best value for shareholders.

Independent Business Reviews (IBR)
